Popcorn Sales!

2016-2017 Popcorn Program
Face it parents: we grew up in a different time. As kids, nothing was handed to us. We either worked or helped to earn our rewards: money, an activity with friends, or something we wanted. Scouting still believes in and stands for the core value of earning!

Cub Scouting with Pack 354 is a "Year-round" program. We do one major fundraiser in September & October of every year to pay for the entire year of our expenses...
Selling Popcorn!
For every $1.00 of popcorn that is sold, $0.39 goes directly back toward the Pack to pay for the program throughout the year.

Benefits to Your Scout and Family:
  • By selling the goal, scouts will have their entire year paid for in advance.
  • Go to overnight summer camp for free!
  • Teaches Scouts the value & process of setting and working toward goals
  • Gives Scouts a strong sense of accomplishment through recognition
  • Enhances communication, leadership skills and confidence in your Scout
  • Scouts can earn valuable rewards including gift cards and prizes
  • Scouts can earn their way to an adventure at a Pack Sleepover
Sales Goals:

Below are the goals you and your Scout should strive for this October:
  • $800.00 sold per Cub Scout
  • Reminder: You earn a $5.00 discount on Pack Dues for every $100 of popcorn sold!
  • if you sell the goal, you already get a $40 discount on Pack Dues.

Ways to Sell:
Show and Deliver
  • The Scout requests popcorn on consignment (variety could vary).  He sells what he can and returns the rest with no penalty
  • The Scout, with his Akela, goes door to door with a Take Order Form
  • The Scout carries Trail's End Popcorn with him (in a van or car) and is able to fulfill the customer's popcorn order right away.
Take Orders
  • The Scout requests popcorn on consignment (variety could vary). He sells what he can and returns the rest with no penalty.
  • The Scout with his Akela goes door to door with a Take Order Form.  Take Order Forms will provided during the Popcorn Kickoff
  • The customer writes his/her order on the Take Order Form and the Scout collects the money.
  • The Scout processes the order and delivers the Popcorn to the Customer in a few weeks.
Selling at Work
  • Mom and/or Dad take an order form to their work.
  • Fellow co-workers write their order on the order form.
  • Mom and/or Dad deliver product and collect the money in a few weeks.
  • (It is best to collect the money upfront when possible)
Selling Online
  • The Scout communicates his Order Key via email, phone, and so on, to potential or existing customers.
  • The Customer can go online and purchase popcorn with a Credit Card  awww.campmasters.org
  • The Product is shipped directly to the customer and the Scout and Unit receive credit for the Sale.
Show and Sells
  • Show and Sells make up a big part of our popcorn program. We've obtained permission from local businesses to set up a sales table.  Show and Sells have plenty of products on-hand for people to buy.  Different Scouts work at the table in shifts.  Always have adult supervision.
Scouts can also create their own Show and Sell
  • By reaching out to local businesses and getting permission to set up a table for sales.  If you do, be sure to let us know.  We're happy to help you help us by coordinating other Scout's participation and providing the popcorn! We already have a pre-made Location Request Letter and can supply you with one upon request.

Prizes and Rewards:
  • Receive prizes from Trails-End (see order forms)
  • Additional prizes from Baltimore Area Council
  • Den Reward for participation (Free Pizza Party for 100% participation)

2016 Camp Card Sales

Update: 5-19-16
Thanks so much for pitching in and selling Camp Cards in 2016.
As a pack, we raised $280 for our cub scouts to use for summer camp this year!
Thanks so much, and we will do it again in early February, 2017

We will be starting our Camp Card Kick Off on Wednesday, April 20th!
All Monies and unsold Camp Cards due back be Wednesday, May 18th!

What is a Camp Card?
A camp card is a value/discount card which features coupon deals for local and national businesses in and around the greater Baltimore area.
On the back of the card are 10 reusable discounts, valid from February 1, 2016 – December 31, 2016. In addition to the reusable coupons, each card is outfitted with two one-time use, “break off” coupons.
Each card is sold for $5.00, and provides the customer with no less than $100 in savings.

Commission Structure
Pack 354 will earn 50% commission ($2.50) in cash on each $5.00 Camp Card we sell.
With our community partnerships, the sale of the Camp Card is a no brainer!
This program is completely RISK FREE, because any unsold Camp Cards may be returned.

Details
Each Camp Card has a value of over $100. The cards are packaged in shrink-wrapped packs of twenty (20).

Unit Incentive—New for 2016!
Units that sell 500 Camp Cards over the course of the sale will receive a $50 gift card to the Scout Shop. This offer is cumulative; for example:

New Tent - $150 = 60 cards
Cub Scout Resident Camp - $200 = 80 cards
Boy Scout Resident Camp - $360 = 144 cards

REMEMBER, WE’RE SELLING SCOUTING, NOT JUST DISCOUNT CARDS
Ensure your families understand they are selling character, they are selling better community, and they are selling the benefits of Scouting. Emphasize that each card sold helps a Scout go to camp. The reason our sale will be successful is that people want to support Scouting.

FOR A SUCCESSFUL SALE, ENSURE YOUR SCOUTS:
· Wear a Scout Uniform, smile, and say their first name.
· Tell the customer their unit number.
· Tell the customer how much THEY can save with a Camp Card.
· Tell the customer how the Scouts are going to use the money.
· Close the sale, and always say Thank You!

RETURN POLICY
