Volunteer Opportunities

Did you know, Pack 354 is run by volunteers?

From designing this website, to planning the weekly activities, to showing up every week to put on a great program for Cub Scouts, many people are involved to make sure the boys have a fun time.

But we can always use more help!

We have opportunities for all to get involved. From the outgoing personalities that want to run a Den on a weekly basis, to the ones that are more at home behind the scenes working with numbers or advancement tracking.

As you know, our Pack’s Scouting program depends on volunteers to make the Scouting experience a positive and enjoyable one for each boy in the Pack. Without sufficient parental involvement, the Pack can and will fail. When you  register a Scout with our Pack, you make a personal commitment to support his Scouting efforts, in many ways, including by:
  •   Reviewing the Pack’s Rules of Conduct with your son
  •   Getting him to all his Den and Pack meetings on time or even early
  •   Assisting his den leaders when they ask for help
  •   Helping him to advance in his rank
  •   Coming with him and participating in Pack meetings
  •   Volunteering some of your time or talent to make our Pack a success
In regards to this last point, please review the following options, make a selection, and sign up to help with one of may positions.
Application to the Pack will not be complete without this form filled out indicating how you will volunteer to help us  with at least one of the Pack’s needs.  So please step-up and volunteer early in the year and often to make the Scouting year with our Pack fun and successful.

Please select one or more volunteer positions below:

I will volunteer as my son’s den leader* or assistant den leader*
* I understand that as a leader training is critical to running a successful program for the boys. To ensure the success of  my Den I understand that will need to complete the appropriate Fast Start Training module, attend New Leader Essentials training and Position Specific training if I have not already taken BSA Basic Leader training and I agree to attend BSA  Youth Protection training early this year. In addition, I understand that I, or a den designate, will need to attend monthly Pack leader’s meetings in addition to working directly with the den.

I will volunteer as an ACTIVE member of the committees indicated below during the Scouting year.
Please note most of these committees require only 1-2 hours of your time to be a success so we really are not asking for a large commitment from anyone. We would like you to also consider signing up for 2 or more of these activities if possible.
  •   Fundraising – Popcorn Sales & Organization, Camp Card Sales, etc.
  •   Blue & Gold Organizer – Help organize, prepare for and run event. Various food and game jobs.
  •   Party Chair– We will be having 3 parties (Halloween, Christmas, End of the Year)
  •   Camping Chair– Help organize an overnight event forthe Pack either in the Fall or Spring.
  •   Sporting Events – Help organize and make arrangements for the Pack to attend a sporting event.
  •   District Events– Help organize and make arrangements for the Pack to attend a District sponsored event
