An important part of Scouting is the uniform. Unless instructed otherwise, a Scout should wear one of 2 uniforms to every Den Meeting, Pack Meeting, and other Scout outings and events. The first of these is the Field Uniform (Often referred to as the Class A). This is the formal uniform in blue or tan, depending on rank. The second is the Activity Uniform (AKA Class B) - SEE BELOW. This is a yellow t-shirt often worn for "messy" events or on certain excursions. Unless instructed, the Field Uniform, or Class A, should be the default unform worn.
Please wear your Field Uniform shirt (no neckerchief, slide or hat) to school on Den and Pack Meeting days to show off your Cub Scout pride. You can wear your Activity Uniform t-shirt on any day. Just remember, when you wear the uniforms, you represent the Pack, the Cub Scouts, and the Boy Scouts of America. You should always be a good Scout, but especially while in your uniform.
Insignia worn on the uniform is restricted. Required patches include the American Flag (on shirt at purchase), Council Patch (Current patch is light blue with the Jefferson Memorial on it. Other allowable Council patches can be purchased at parent expense at http://www.ncacbsa.org/store/ListProducts.aspx?catid=240634 .), Pack 1180 (Red with white numbers. Boy Scouts wear tan with green numbers), Den Number or Den "Patrol" Patch, and Purple World Scouting patch. These patches will be supplied by the pack. Other allowable items include Outdoor Activity patch, Quality Unit Award, Recruiter patch, rank badges, Webelos Colors (Hanging Ribbons for Webelos Pins), and anything allowed in the BSA insignia guide. One temporary patch can be worn on right pocket. Other patches should be placed on red brag vest (SEE BELOW). Patch location can be seen below and under the covers of the Scout Handbooks.
Cub Scout caps are encouraged, but purchase is not a rush, due to economy. No pins should be worn in the caps.
