Join Cub Scout Pack 28!

Joining Cub Scouts couldn’t be easier! The best way to join is to attend! You are welcome to join us at our next Pack meeting or at the next Den meeting for your son’s age group. Our Pack meets at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of every month from September through May (coinciding with the school year).  For Den meeting times, please contact your Den leader directly.

Adult partners (Akelas) are required for all meetings and events.  Adult partners are usually parents or other family members wanting to share in the Scouting experience, but can be any responsible adult. The official BSA Cub Scout Parent Information Guide is a great resource for Parents.

Scouting Application & Fees

The official BSA Scouting application is a multi-part form that we can personally deliver to you,  or you can find it online here.  We always have forms at our Pack meetings and our Den leaders have forms too!

Pack 28 asks for yearly Scouting dues of $60.  Part of this goes to BSA but most of it stays in our own Pack. Scouting fees are due in October of each year.  Scouts joining at other times of the year will pay a prorated amount.  Pack 28 does not want to exclude any boy because of financial hardship.  Please contact the Pack if you have concerns about the monetary issues regarding participation.  As always, this will be held in complete confidence.

Cub Scout Uniform

Pack 28 provides every boy with his respective neckerchief and slide.  We do not have a uniform requirement, although we ask that boys purchase a Cub Scout shirt and appropriate rank patches.  Official uniform pants, as well as hat, belt and other supplies are at each family’s discretion.  Scouting supplies can be purchased locally at the Miami Valley Council Store (they’ll know exactly what you need!) or online at ScoutStuff.org.  And speaking from experience...  Purchase your Scout's shirt in a big enough size that it might last them for more than a single year ;-)

Parent Participation

As a member family of Pack 28, we ask that our adults play some part in the running of the Pack.  Your participation can be large or small.  Please consider volunteering for tasks ranging from helping out at a Den or Pack meeting or outing to being part of the Pack Committee.  There are many opportunities for you to participate!  When we all work together, we can provide a great Scouting program for our boys!

Cub Scouting is all about families.  Parents, brothers, sisters, even grandparents are always welcome to join in all Pack activities.
